Nora Raleigh Baskin

Nora was named a Publishers Weekly Flying Start in 2001 and has since published fifteen novels for young adults. Her books have earned a number of recognitions, including the American Library Association’s Schneider Family Book Award in 2008 and the International Reading Association’s Notable Books for a Global Society in 2016.
She has taught creative writing classes and workshops around the country for over twenty years, in such places as Manhattanville College, S.U.N.Y Purchase, Gotham Writers Workshop, Fairfield County Writers Studio, The Hudson Valley Writers Workshop, University of Massachusetts, and CCSU’s International Literacy Conference.
She has also written several short stories, essays, and personal narratives which have been published in The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, The Writer, and NCTE’s Voices in the Middle. Her first novel for adults, “You Brave and Glorious Thing,” is currently out on submission.
